Colonel James C. Miller dedicated more than 25 years to serving his country in the United States Army. A veteran of World War II, he first served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate before being commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army on September 5, 1950.
Throughout his distinguished military career, Colonel Miller served in leadership and command positions in the United States and Korea, including with Military Police and Infantry units. His assignments included serving as Provost Marshal at Fort Jay, New York; Commander of the 81st Military Police Detachment and the 89th Military Police Group; and Provost Marshal and commander of the 93rd Military Police Battalion with the 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He also held senior staff positions at Army headquarters and served as Commander of the United States Military Group in Venezuela.
Colonel Miller was a graduate of Gannon College and earned a Master of Science from Shippensburg State University. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal for Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.
He married Esther L. McFayden in 1950, and together they raised three children: Scott, Tom, and Pam.
