Leon Carter was born on September 7, 1932, in Lancaster, South Carolina. He raised his family in Syracuse, New York, prior to relocating to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He served a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Tech Sergeant. During that time he served his country in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Leon passed away on December 23, 2003, survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
